Sunset is our after school child care provision and it is a play-based environment for the children to unwind after a busy school day. Sunset is split into year groups to enable us to run the sessions to meet the needs of the different age groups. However, children do sometimes mix for outside play and dinner time. The children are given the freedom to choose what they would like to do from a range of activities on offer including sports, crafts, games and cooking.

Sunset is open every day from after school until 6.00pm (excluding INSET days and on the last day of term before the Christmas, Easter and summer holidays begin). The children are collected from their classrooms by their Sunset Room Leaders and Sunset Playworkers. They are then provided with a healthy snack of seasonal fruit and a biscuit or a savoury option during registration, before starting some activities.

Parents and Carers are welcome to collect their children at either 4.30pm from the school Office or between 5.30pm and 6.00pm, from the following locations:

Reception – Reception classrooms that alternate weekly

· Year 1 – Club Room via South Gate

· Year 2 – Club House via South Gate

· Years 3 and 4 – Staff Room via East Gate

· Years 5 and 6 – 4C via East Gate.

 

On Fridays only, collection between 5.30pm and 6.00pm is via the South Gate

Dinner is cooked on site by our school caterers Accent, and served to the children from 4.30pm until 5.15pm. The meal is served by Alessio our lovely kitchen chef and together with the Sunset staff a family feel to eating is promoted, where everyone sits together at the tables to have a chat about their day! The cost of a short session with a 4.30pm pick up time is £8.60 (excluding family dinner) or £16.60 for the full session.

We do also offer ad hoc sessions. However, these sessions are only available upon request and if we have spaces available at the cost of £11.10 for a 4.30pm collection time, or £19.10 for a full session.
