Talking about Pictures

Talking about pictures is equally as important as reading words. It is fantastic to comment on unusual pictures and/or things you notice in the environment or in daily life. Asking children questions that are open-ended helps them to build their imagination and develop descriptive vocabulary. A great resource to find unusual pictures is called www.pobble365.com which is free – you will find a new photo on there every day! As children start to get more confident with their writing you could encourage them to make stories about the pictures they see.
