Our School

One of the unique features of our school is our outside space.  Everyday we utilise our all weather pitch, ball cage, large playground areas and in addition to this we also have a large field which is surrounded by woodland and used for sport, outdoor learning and playtime.

The facilities inside the building include a studio and a hall with gymnastics equipment, a well-stocked computerised library, children’s kitchens, a number of group teaching spaces, a bank of 60 iPads, a set of 30 fully-networked laptops which allow the teaching of fully integrated computing skills to happen inside the classrooms at any time.

At present there are 600 pupils on roll, ranging from ‘rising fives’ to children of eleven. The children in the reception classes work together in a large purposely-designed spacious area with outdoor learning taking place in two dedicated areas throughout the rest of the school, the children are organised into classes per year group. Class sizes are approximately thirty. Each class has a class teacher and additional teachers are employed to provide challenge and support for pupils throughout the school.  Our specialist Spanish teacher, sports and music coaches alongside our higher level teaching assistants (HLTAs) provide release time for class teachers to plan, prepare and assess.  In addition, children in the reception classes have the benefit of having a full time teaching assistant each. Other year groups have a mixture of full and part time teaching assistants split into teams, which work across the year groups.
