Year 3
|
The classes have a target to develop their listening skills and to become more independent learners. The teachers use a variety of strategies such as hand clapping rhythms and counting down from 10 to indicate when the children are to stop and listen. Year 3 are expected to change their library books at library club on a Tuesday or Thursday or during class library time on Mondays or Tuesday. We actively encourage our children to read for enjoyment as much as possible and therefore they need to have a book of their own choice in school everyday to read in quiet reading time. We also enjoy sharing a class book at every opportunity. In 3K the children strive to "take Daisy home," the class duck is given out when they have worked particularly well. |
